Don’t you wait for me, Like I wait for you? I told you, I told you, That you were the warm rain, And I could use you every day. I told you, but I told you, To wait. Now, take the love you feel and keep it by your side, You’ll never know how often you dance around my mind. Don’t you think about me, Like I think about you? I hold you, I hold you, Like you were air on skin, And I could use the refreshment. I hold you, but I hold you, Like the wind. Take the love you feel and keep it by your side, You’ll never know how often you dance around my mind. Oh, how all hearts change in due time you’ll find. So don’t you wait for me, Like I waited for you, ‘Cause I’ve moved, yeah, I’ve moved.

You sure knew how to keep my eyes hooked on you, With no harm in disguise, just a heart for the truth. How could we have known it would end so soon? We’re just a couple kids, eager in our lips and anxious for something new. Something new. But once I said, That I would watch you sleep, and I would know your needs. And I would never leave, no matter how we pushed, No matter how we screamed, no. I waited for your phone call ‘till September passed. I heard you found a new boy that swore to love you back. And we grew up to find our lives both had to move, I've come to terms with us apart so when you're far I just remember that that the pursuit is for someone right for you. But once I said, I would watch you sleep, and I would know your needs. And I would never leave, no matter how we pushed, No matter how we screamed, no. Oh, whoah I would watch you sleep… I would watch you sleep, and I would know your needs. And I would never leave, no matter how we pushed, No matter how we screamed, no.

Mountain 03:38
Has the winter finally passed? 'Caused this numbness seems to be gone. And this hole inside of my chest Started healing when I found you. I'll climb up the mountain, Climb up the mountain, climb up the mountain, To get to you. And I may get weary, I may get tired, But I won't stop till I get to you. And the current pulled me home There you stood right at my door With your heart placed in your hands You calmed your racing mind and you said, I'll climb up the mountain, Climb up the mountain, climb up the mountain, To get to you. And I may get weary, I may get tired, But I won't stop till I get to you. Oh, darling you're mine And you always lead me back When I've lost my way. Oh, darling I'm yours, So just keep your mind at east 'Cause I'll never leave.

Honey Eyes 03:36
Honey Eyes Honey eyes, do you think of me, When the dusk fills your room? Because I think of you. Somewhere cold in bed by your grief, You toss stones at the moon, Hoping I see them too. I know it’s harder every year, my dear. But I’m still waiting on the other side of your mirror. You’ll keep my big mouth in line, Cork my thought-drunk mind, And let me inside. I sleep sound by my lonesome for now, ‘Cause I know she won’t leave. But I feel your heartbeat against mine in these sheets, And I like to think that one day they’ll finally meet. I know it’s harder every year, my dear. But I’m still waiting on the other side of your mirror. And I know how it is to think of our first kiss, When watching your friends make out. But I promise you this, when we wrap up our ribs I’ll lift your love high off the ground. So honey eyes, do you think of me? And how lovely we’ll be.

about

Strangers is the sophomore release of Nathan Earl and Rachel Joy, following their debut LP, Repose, which contains 4 melodious stories of love unrequited, lost, gained, and hoped for.

The record ominously opens with "Dance Around My Mind", a song of movement that resonates with times spent through unrequited feelings and leaves you with more questions than answers. It next proceeds to the EP single, "Watch You Sleep," which 4-counts into a bright, yet sorrowful violin and folky acoustic rhythm, and a chorus that quickly gets stuck on replay well after it closes. This song speaks of moving on from lost love and truly coming to terms with what that means in a positive light.

From there enters the third track, "Mountain", which dances like a waltz and softly speaks of leaving brokenness in the past while clinging to new love - one based more on a journey together, rather than a feeling to hold onto. And finally, the record concludes with "Honey Eyes," a longing and nostalgic piece that drowns you in guitar swells and crying violin, with lyrics centering around a hope that true love will find you in the end.
